Voici les 10 meilleures ventes de la semaine au Japon. Il s'agit des ventes réalisées sur la semaine précédente, du lundi 18 juillet au dimanche 24 juillet, fournies par l'institut japonais Media Create. Plus connu en Occident sous le nom Devil Kings, Sengoku Basara s'adjuge la première place cette semaine, sans pour autant tutoyer les sommets comme un Dynasty Warriors. Il ne suffit visiblement pas de singer Koei pour obtenir le même succès, Capcom s'en rend compte une fois de plus. On note également cette semaine un net recul des ventes pour les jeux basés sur la licence FullMetal Alchemist, que ce soit sur PS2 (34.000 ventes) ou sur DS (15ème du Top). Entre la concurrence des autres jeux, l'exploitation intensive de la licence et l'érosion du phénomène, les raisons pour expliquer ce déclin sont multiples. Mario Superstar Baseball sur GameCube doit lui aussi composer avec la sortie une semaine plus tôt de Powerful Pro Baseball 12, même si sa performance en première semaine est meilleure que la version GC du jeu de base-ball Konami. A noter également que d'autres sorties attendues, comme Mega Man Battle Network 5 : Double Team sur DS (11ème), ou The King of Fighters Neowave (12ème), ne sont pas parvenues à s'immiscer dans le Top 10.
